About [Us]
꞉꞉ Developing The Systems That Power Space Missions
Orbital Gridworks brings nuclear energy engineering and mission integration together. We are developing heating and power systems for spacecraft, lunar payloads and future surface infrastructure.
Our focus

We are starting with a specific mission need: helping batteries and payloads survive the lunar night. Our Space Battery program addresses heat and smaller electrical loads. BEAST extends the roadmap to continuous fission power for larger facilities.
Our role

We focus on the architecture that connects an energy source to a working mission. This includes thermal routing, power management, controls and vehicle interfaces. Specialist partners are intended to provide regulated sources and fuel, conversion technology and access to licensed testing.
Our team

Led by Executive Chairman Greg Newman and Founder and CEO Devesh Rajeev Shete, our team combines technology business experience with advanced nuclear engineering. Our core engineering leads cover safety, reactor core and fuel, mechanical systems, and electrical, control and instrumentation.
Leadership team
Greg Newman

Greg is a technology entrepreneur and investor with a career spanning Apple, Macromedia and Oracle. He was part of Macromedia's founding team, helped introduce Apple's QuickTime and held senior marketing and product management responsibilities at Oracle.
He later co-founded C2B Technologies, acquired by Inktomi, and investment firm Integrity Partners, an early investor in Baidu. He brings experience in commercializing technology, building companies and investing in emerging businesses to Orbital Gridworks.
Devesh Rajeev Shete

Devesh is a Cambridge-trained chemical engineer focused on the development and commercializing of advanced nuclear technology. His experience spans reactor feasibility, technology transfer and plant engineering, including chief engineer responsibilities for turnkey plant delivery.
He led UK feasibility work on the HTR-PM reactor concept and authored the 2019 feasibility and Phase 2 reports. At Orbital Gridworks, he leads the Space Battery and BEAST development programs. He holds an MEng (Hons) and is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
